This is a great song and it appears really well done. BUT, this video clip shows everything that is wrong with filming stage productions. With large screen wodescreen tvs there is zero reason to not simply frame the stage in a single camera and record. The production is designed to be seen as an entire stage... the constant movement of cameras destroys that design.

This number: -Requires a lot of actors -Actors are all men of a specific age group -All actors need to be able to sing -All actors need to be able to dance -Dance number includes ballet -Dance number includes mild stunts -Due to costuming, you can’t pad out the numbers with girls, it’s too noticeable I wouldn’t be surprised if they auditioned the entire state of New York and then some to be able to fill out this cast. Such amazing choreography. These guys are so talented. The jumps, the splits & the sliding on the floor through the legs of the other actors. Of course, you forget the dancing on the newspapers and the singing, too. I’m just sorry I missed all of this life. I’m glad I got to see it on the Tony Awards and now on UA-cam. Thanks.

I dont understand why they changed so much of Seize the day. :41 and another thing. If you are going to do a play based on ACTUAL events, you should remove the Asian paperboy as there werent any in 1899.

My new hobby is watching all the places the Newsies performed “seize the day” and watch them work through progressively smaller spaces. (As a person who condensed a performance with weapons from a gym floor size to a stage- I feel the pain)
